FC Brandywine B+ Foundation Turf Cup

Adidas presents the FC Brandywine B+ Foundation Turf Cup on Nov 23rd and 24th.

The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation honors the life of Andrew McDonough. Andrew battled leukemia, septic shock and complications of childhood cancer for 167 days before passing away on July 14, 2007, at the age of 14. Andrew’s B+ blood type became his family’s and friends’ motto throughout his fight against childhood cancer — to “Be Positive”.  The B+ Foundation is about Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer — raising money through dance marathons, 5Ks, T-shirt sales and more, to provide financial and emotional support to families of children with cancer nationwide. The B+ Foundation also funds critical, cutting-edge childhood cancer research. This tournament will be donating a part of the proceeds to the Foundation as well as hoping to increase aware about the Foundation and the great work it does. B+ Foundation Story

FC Brandywine will be utilizing two of the areas best facilities for our B+ Foundation Cup this year.  After the weather last year and all tournaments in the area being canceled and many disappointed players, the club decided that smiles are more important than margins.

Facility One
MSI Sport Village located at 4881 Chichester Highway, Aston, Pa

This facility is fully turfed and where FC Brandywine holds fall training sessions.  It will consist of 3 - 4 11 v 11 fields and 2 - 4 9 v 9 fields.  This facility is sanctioned by EPSYA for State Cup, League play and Tournaments.  A full snack bar is available with hot and cold food.  Rain, shine or snow, these games will be played.

Facility Two

76ers Field House located in Wilmington Delaware

This facility has a 100 x 70 indoor turf field that will create four 7v7 fields for u9 and u10 teams to keep them out of the cold. The fields will be 70 x 45 and will include the build out line.

A full snack bar with hot and cold food will be available and a chance to see where the 76ers G league team plays!

The outside turf field will host 9 v 9 teams with two 9 v 9 fields there.  Access to the field house between games will be available.
