MINOR LEAGUE
For kids 8-10 years old
MINOR 'A' LEAGUE
For kids 8 years old
BYC believes that the introducing of pitching at this age will enhance the entire experience for all involved
and get the players ready for the 9 year old league which is strictly pitching. Games are generally three innings
of player pitch and three innings of machine pitch.
Stealing is also introduced.
MINOR 'AA' LEAGUE
For kids 9 years old
Babes Ruth recommends that 9 & 10 yr. olds play together, however, the Baseball Committee wants to ensure that the
first true experience of hitting and player pitching is not overwhelming. Having 9 year olds pitching to 9 year
olds accomplishes this.
Pitchers will be limited to 2 innings per game. There will be times that Parents/Coaches will pitch to keep the
game moving and ensure both teams stay involved and interested.
Note: If the numbers do not support a separate league for 9 year olds and 10 year olds, these age groups will be
combined. This will not be known until the end of registration and will be determined by the Baseball Committee
at that time.
The FUNdamentals of baseball: hitting, fielding, running the bases and pitching are the primary objectives of this
league. (You can't spell fundamentals without FUN!)
MINOR 'AAA' LEAGUE
For kids 10 years old
Babes Ruth recommends that 9 & 10 yr. olds play together, however, the Baseball Committee wants to ensure that
the 10 year olds, having played in the Minor League previously do not overpower some 9 year olds. This creates a
less than positive experience for those 9 year olds.
Pitchers will be limited to 2 innings per game. This offers more 10 year olds the opportunity to participate in
pitching.
Note: If the numbers do not support a separate league for 9 year olds and 10 year olds, these age groups will be
combined. This will not be known until the end of registration and will be determined by the Baseball Committee
at that time.
